The bird also appears to be flying towards something that looks both like an eye and Rehoboam. Since the eagle is a prominent figure in classic Americana style and the Wild West in general, the show is keeping to its roots of Westworld despite leaving it physically. Birds typically tend to symbolize freedom so replacing their grounded animals with the flapping wings of a bird that looks to be an eagle suggests that the hosts of Westworld will finally experience the freedom that characters like Dolores and Maeve have been dreaming of since the beginning. Now, Season 3's opening takes flight with a new animal at its focus: an eagle. Season 1's opening sequences featured a running horse while Season 2 showcased a bison. ![]()
